We engage with non-governmental organisations, industry, small business, schools, and individuals. The CKI was established in 2001 to enable NUIG to respond to community need and create opportunities for all to be civically engaged. To date the CKI has created curricular (service learning) and extracurricular (volunteering) activities that connect students and their learning to community. Over 2000 students annually engage with the local, national and international community and work on issues related to social justice and inclusion. The CKI is continuously looking for ways to responds to community need and be innovative in its response.
