Martin Clayton – who am I? Why am i here?

June 14, 2011

Hi, my name is martin clayton and i am a third year business management student at the University of Brighton. i am also the elected vice president of our student union and my particular focus is on civic engagement.

Why do i want to be involved in this opportunity?
I want to be involved in this opportunity as i have a real passion and desire to help my local communities and see this as an invaluable opportunity to learn and further develop my own understanding of how other institutions across the world conduct their own practices and see how i can take those lessons back to Brighton.

What inspires me about the global civic engagement movement?
The main inspiration about the civic engagement movement that occUrs pn an international level is knowing that people the world over are just as committed, passionate and engaged to make a difference. There are key note speeches from some of theist powerful people in the world taking place at this conference and to be able to learn and debate with such individuals is a real privilege.

I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you.

Regards

Martin

Hello all! just a quick message from me. Being involved with the great work of the University of Brighton has opened my eyes to the value of Community engagement. I cannot wait to meet you all and discover new ways to enrich my own understanding and practices at Brighton Student Union. Also I am a football/soccer fan, LOVE the hot weather and very receptive to invites to attend your own Universities.
